Are you interested in social impact? That is what 180 Degrees Consulting is all about – and the primary reason I joined.
My name is Måns Kvarnfors and I am working as a supporting member to the board of 180 Degrees Consulting Lund. I had never heard about 180DC until a few weeks prior to application but after a bit of research that did not stop me from submitting my resume and taking a gamble.
Today, I look back at that decision fondly after a great first semester and with more to come.
During our newly established organization’s first semester, I was assisting in projects and building 180DC Lund as an organization. With everything being the first time for us, there was a lot of room for new initiatives and chances to really make an impact for 180DC Lund, which I really appreciate.
People make the difference
I became a member of 180 Degrees Consulting in the spring. Unfortunately, Covid-19 made us unable to continue meeting in person for most of the period. In the beginning, I was worried about the possible negative effects of the situation, but we were very lucky not to be more severely harmed. Instead, the opposite happened: the quickness and smoothness of the transition to working digitally impressed me deeply. This really made me realize how talented, bright, and driven everyone at 180DC is.
180DC is certainly a place for people who truly aspire to grow and create results. I am very proud of being a part of our organization and of what we already have achieved so far.
180DC has given me more than I expected
Currently, in my fourth year of pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, 180DC feels like the perfect match for both my background and goals. It is an excellent opportunity to grow professionally, make a tangible impact already as a student, and have a great time (not to be underestimated!).
With a personal interest in management consulting, 180DC has been an exceptional way for me to build relevant experience and to get a sense of how well this path would suit me. All in all, I have gained a lot more out of my commitment than I initially expected.
Next semester, I am looking forward to continuing my work at 180 Degrees Consulting. The projects we have selected are all really exciting with a good spread in terms of industry and sort of work – and of course with the addition of strong potential for social impact. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time so far, and I am very excited to meet new, brilliant people that are eager to join us.
With these as my final words, I would like to add that the application period for next semester is currently open and I hope that you will take the chance and apply for the upcoming fall!
