Are you interested in getting involved at 180 Degrees Consulting Lund? Are you curious about our work? Here’s a blog post that should help answer your questions!

My name is Tilila Ouijjane and I am a former 180DC Lund consultant as well as a recent graduate in Finance and Economics. Being part of the 180DC family and especially the newly founded Lund branch was a meaningful and enriching adventure. For this reason, I am more than happy to reflect back on my experience and share my thoughts with you on the consulting work me and my team delivered throughout our project.

As most of the young people from my generation, I have been exposed from an early age to the concept of sustainability and since then, I have always wanted to participate and contribute actively to sustainable initiatives. While educating myself, it became clear to me that there was a real need in providing solutions and tools to organizations, for them to better understand the changing context within which they operate. Being a consultant for 180DC Lund allowed me to concretely take action, by combining my educational background and interest in consulting to collaborate with nonprofits and serve a bigger purpose.

More precisely, I worked to offer consultancy services to two nonprofits, in a team which consisted of five highly motivated consultants from different educational and cultural backgrounds. Through their collaboration, our clients were aiming at reducing CO2 emissions with their solar-powered transport solution. The diversity among the 180DC consultants enabled us to use a variety of skills and while working on the consultancy project, each team member increased its perspectives and knowledge of different subjects. We also faced some obstacles, but one of the most interesting parts of the consulting work is to provide relevant solutions in a dynamic and challenging environment, where being able to react quickly to a new context is a strength.

Within my work as a 180DC consultant, I was proud to support the creation of social impact and I enjoyed learning more about the role and responsibilities inherent to my consultant position. I also gained valuable experience by developing hard skills within business development, data analysis, and management consulting, as well as soft skills through my teamwork and the frequent interactions with our clients. Of course, you should know that you are never alone when you are in the 180DC family! During your project, you can count on the support of the board, consultant mentors but also members of 180DC Lund who take part in other projects.

If by reading this post you are even more curious about sustainable consulting and working with social impact organizations, I strongly encourage you to become a consultant at 180 Degrees Consulting Lund! Don’t miss the chance to gain meaningful experience and keep an eye open for information regarding the Autumn 2020 application process.

Welcome on board!
